Zim maths genius Brian White wins UK deportation war, Gets Indefinite Leave to Remain

A Zimbabwean born maths genius who faced deportation has won his battle to stay in the United Kingdom.
Brian White also risked losing his place at Oxford University because of uncertainty over his immigration status.
A Home Office spokesman said: “We have been in contact with Mr White’s legal representatives today (4 September) to confirm that his application for Indefinite Leave to Remain has been approved.”
A petition, started by Mr White’s friend Luke Wilcox, had gathered almost 112,000 signatures.
Brian was abandoned as a baby and lived in an orphanage in Zimbabwe until he was six.
He was fostered and later adopted by a British man, Peter White, and his family, who moved to Botswana and later returned to the UK.
His application to become a British citizen by naturalisation was rejected and he was only granted limited leave to remain in the UK, which meant he was unable to take up his place to study chemistry at Oxford.
