A young Zimbabwean has been saved from deportation from the UK after fellow Zimbabweans campaigned hard to halt the deportation.

Selvis Bhebhe (23) was supposed to be forcibly ejected from the UK yesterday. He came to the UK when he was 13 years old. But his claim for asylum was thrown out by the Home Office.

The young man’s family circumstances are not clear. But Ezra Sibanda who campaigned for his release said : “The ruthless UK Border Force tried to deport the young man but pressure put on the Kenyan Airlines helped to abort the forced removal of Selvis. Thanks a million to all the people who called and helped to stop this barbarism. Selvis remains incarcerated for nothing at Morton Immigration Removal Centre in Lincolnshire. The battle now is to fight for his release and together we can do it people.”
