Jah Prayzah arrives in UK for live shows

Zimbabwean musician Jah Prayzah arrived in the UK on Wednesday ahead of his headline performance at this year’s Zimfest Live on Saturday at the Kempton Park Racecourse in Surrey.

In a video filmed from inside his hotel room, the ‘Watora Mari’ hitmaker urged his fans to come in their numbers to support the festival.

 Other musical acts set to perform include Zee Guveya and The Heritage Survival Band, Evicted, Ard Matthews and Ceemunye, Alex Humberstone, Mixolis, Musiq Avenue, Petite Deejay, Nic Fourie, JP Kairo, Kelvin Soul Supreme S, Kojo, DJ Field, Welly Tee, Big Nero, Lady G2, King Alfred, DJ Marshall.

Zimfest Live is an annual Zimbabwean music, food and family festival. This year the headline sponsor of the festival is Econet through their Cassava Remit and Ecocash Wallet brands. Other partners include World Remit, Senditoo and Diaspora Funeral Cash Plan.

Starting in 2001, in a field behind Wandsworth Prison in south-west London, the festival has spread its magic round the world to Cape Town, Perth, Brisbane and Oslo.

The festival now comes back to the UK as ZimFest Live under new management by Redcliff Management in partnership with Clearwater Events.

Location

This year, ZimFest Live will be held at Kempton Park Racecourse, Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey. The site has over 200 acres of flat grassland surrounded by woodland and 2 lakes. It is located 16 miles south-west of London, is close to Heathrow airport and so within easy reach by public transport or car
